Emirates says full flight network to return within days

DUBAI: Emirates said it expects to restore its global flight network to full operations within the coming days as regional airspace becomes available again, while cautioning that the pace of recovery depends on route access and operational requirements. The Dubai-based carrier said it is currently operating a reduced schedule as it works through aircraft and crew positioning, flight planning and regulatory clearances needed to rebuild normal services.

The airline said it carried about 30,000 passengers out of Dubai as services restarted under the reduced schedule, reflecting a phased return after recent disruption to regional flying. Emirates said safety remains paramount and said it is continuing to apply duty-of-care measures for customers affected by cancellations and schedule changes. The carrier urged travelers to check the status of their flights and travel requirements before heading to the airport.

Emirates said its rebuilding plan includes prioritising customers who already hold bookings, while opening additional capacity as operations stabilise. The airline said it is progressively adding frequencies and destinations, with timetables changing as airspace access and approvals evolve. Emirates also said its teams are working across airport and contact-centre operations to manage rebooking, provide updates and reduce congestion during peak travel periods at Dubai International Airport.

    Network restoration timeline

By Saturday, March 7, Emirates said it expected to operate 106 return daily flights to 83 destinations, representing almost 60% of its route network. The airline said the step-up is part of a wider plan to restore full connectivity as quickly as conditions allow, including the return of more long-haul services. Emirates said the schedule remains subject to airspace availability and the fulfilment of all operational requirements needed for safe and reliable flights.

The carrier said customers should rely on the latest flight information for their specific booking because restoration is being implemented in stages. Emirates said it continues to monitor regional developments closely and adjust operations as necessary, including changes that may affect departure times, routings and onward connections. The airline said passengers with confirmed bookings may be contacted with updated itineraries where changes are required.

    Customer guidance and airport operations

Emirates reiterated that travelers should not proceed to the airport unless they have a confirmed booking and a checked flight status, and said customers facing disruption can use rebooking options in line with the airline’s policies. The carrier said it is working with airport and service partners to support passengers during the transition period, including those connecting through Dubai, and to manage queues at check-in and customer-service points.

Emirates said it anticipates a return to 100% of its network within the coming days, while noting that the timing depends on airspace access and operational readiness across its system. The airline said it will continue to publish updates as the schedule expands and urged customers to follow the latest information before travel. The company said its priority remains the safe conduct of flights and the orderly restoration of services across its global network. – By Content Syndication Services.
